Related text in page: «Not an original idea by any means just my latest project Basically it is 6 coat hangers screwed to a piece of wood a UHF transformer and about 6 feet of coax I had everything laying around the house and only spent about 30 min putting it together Instructions Take the coat hangers and cut the hook off just where the wire starts to curve up into the twisty part and straighten them out with some pliers Measure and cut 8 14 inch sections then take some sandpaper emery cloth something to scrape with and clean the center area of paint coating to bare metal Make two marks about 2 quot down from the top of the board or whatever non conducting mounting surface you choose about 2 quot in from the sides Make 3 more marks down each side of the board about 6 quot apart Take one of the remaining hangers and bend it so it touches the upper right mark the next lower left mark the next lower mark and then the next lower right mark Cut the excess and repeat with the remaining hanger Note where the zig zag hangers meet the marks and clean them off at these points and clean a small section at the half way point Take the others and bend them in half leaving a 3 quot to 4 quot separation at the quot V quot opening Secure one zig zag hanger and 4 quot V quot hangers together at the marks making sure you have good clean metal to metal contact I used flat washers and drywall screws Do the same with the other side Make sure there is NO clean metal to metal contact at the upper and lower cross over points all hangers have a coating that should prevent this as long as you don t scratch it use some tape if you do Secure the UHF transformer to the half way point sections you cleaned off again with good clean metal to metal contact Note these things can be had for about $4 00 at Radio Shack Connect the coax and watch TV»
